Perfect People

I thought this song very poignant for myself, as well as, most of the people in the church.  We all figure that the other person has it all together and so we better try our best to look like we have it together as to not feel left out.  So we cover our faults, imperfect-ness, our every day battles and struggles, our strengths and weaknesses;  we cover the times we've fallen and the times of victory when conquerers we are made from deciding to get out of that pit we've fallen into and rising above the low road.  Till basically we have covered what makes up our personalities. But what's more critical is that we are trying to hide the details that God made in us that defines us from each other.

This way we can't reach out to fellow sojourners for help or give help on this journey where companionship is vital to making it to our Mt. Zion.  We are all too conscious about how we might look in the other's eyes.  Dear sojourners, this journey is too delicate and too serious a business to hold back and cover up our real selves.  If we're not careful we could end up isolating ourselves from all our fellow sojourners, and we just can't risk it; we can't take that chance.  I pray that this song will seep into the deepest crevasses of our soul.  That it might cause us to seek our LORD more and the fellowship of fellow weary sojourners looking and needing companionship just as badly as you and me.

Perfect People
________________
" Never let 'em see you when you're breaking
Never let 'em see you when you fall
That's how we live and that's how we try
Tell the world you've got it all together
Never let them see what's underneath
Cover it up with a crooked smile
But it only last for a little while

[chorus:]
There's no such thing as perfect people
There's no such thing as a perfect life
So com as you are, broken and scarred
Lift up your heart and be amazed
And be changed by a perfect God

Suddenly it's like a weight is lifted
When you hear the words that you are loved
He knows where you are and where you've been
And you never have to go there again

[chorus:]
There's no such thing as perfect people
There's no such thing as a perfect life
So come as you are broken and scarred
Lift up your heart and be amazed
And be changed by a perfect God

[bridge]
Who lived and died to give new life
To heal our imperfections
So look up and see out let grace be enough

[chorus]
There's no such thing as perfect people
There's no such thing as a perfect life
So come as you are, broken and scarred
Lift up your heart and be amazed
And be changed by a perfect God"
