Consider the Lilies and How They Grow

Today I found myself bewildered and overwhelmed with all the things I could think of to do and finish this year.  Finally I retreated to my bedroom and positioned myself in the posture I have always found comfort in, on my knees before my Heavenly Father.  With my head buried in my hands I leaned into the edge of my bed and silently cried inside as all my worries flowed before the LORD.  Breathing deeply in I then let out a heavy sigh, "Lord!  What am I to do?!"  In my thoughts, "All these things I must do in what seems as such little time!  How must I do all?!"

As I tried to compose myself I let out another deep sigh.  Looking up I set my eyes at the wall across from me, simply to stare at as I tried to sort through all my feelings.  As I did my gaze landed upon a picture I had made a while back.  Dried flowers and leaves painted the canvas as moss lined the bottom, while four periwinkle butterflies, though only paper, gave the sense of freedom and peace as they seemed to just float about the picture.  Than my gaze found the bottom bordure that had been written upon with the words, "Consider the lilies and how they grow".  As I read those words I sensed the Lord smile and softly say, "Is that a good enough answer."  I smiled and said, "Yes Lord it is."  I then turned to the side table net to my bed and reached for my Bible and flipped to Matthew 6:28-34

"So why do you worry about clothing?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Therefore do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'  For after all these things the Gentiles seek.  For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

After reading that I thought of all my worries and things I had thought I needed to get done now to prepare and ready myself for the goal the Lord has set before me.  But it says there in Matthew that He will clothe me, prepare me, for the goal He has called me to.  He will dress me for the occasion, so-to speak, He will equip me with what I need to fulfill the calling He has put on my life.  "For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things."  He is the one who called me to this goal He ought to know what I need in order to get there and fulfill His purpose there.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
"Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him.  And He shall bring it to pass."
